PURE BLISS
As promised, here is the link to Maria Sabina's Mushroom Ceremony. It was said that after her article in the LIFE magazine May 1957 issue, written by R. Gordon Wasson, the hippie culture stormed into Maria's home town, Huautla de Jimenez, in hopes of trying to "trip" with the Mushroom Mother. The article got SO MUCH attention that even celebrities joined the band wagon and went to search for this holy lady. To name a few of those who went on the "pilgrimage" were John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Pete Townshend, Mick Jagger and I'm sure many more. Her once quite town was now being destroyed by hippies and the once holy and old secret ceremony was looked down upon and as a nuisance to the town. It seemed as if the more and more people that knew about Maria Sabina, the more and more her powers were being drained. Although it may have looked as if this article did more damage then good, Maria recognizes that it was part of destiny and that there were bigger plans to come from this.
